After a looong wait it finally snowed in Belgium. I really love looking outside seeing everything under a white cover, and if it's thick enough it any city just looks like a fairty tale. Even Brussels looked like a fairy tale... well except for the traffic jams (I take the train, so yeah it's not my problem.).

I was really sorry I didn't have my camera with me, but really happy I did have my iPhone so I could stil snap a few shots on my way. Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed my beautiful walk in the snow.

After the Christmas tree bokeh effects from my previous post, here is the bokeh Xmas card. I just used a part of the picture because otherwise there would have been too much black.This is the picture I used:

Using the whole picture would have resulted in a waay too dark Xmas card. Afterwards I enhanced with some Lens Flare in Photoshop and some curve adjustments.
Here are the results...

This is a second version of the card (I call it the cute version), thought it had a nice vintage touch with the solid colour backgrounds.

Last night we set up our Christmas tree and of course I wanted to take a few pictures. While I couldn't get some very nice shots of the tree itsself (yet) due to bad lighting, I discovered how to capture the Bokeh effect :D. So, instead of trying to caputure the best angle of the tree I just kept taking Bokeh shots. I am pleased with the result, got a few shots with some really nice colour combinations and I think I might just use one of these for a self-made colourful Bokeh Christmas card. 

And here is a second series of bokeh effects! Couldn't resist, I just had to capture a few more of these!

This is one of those moments I am really really happy I have my camera within arms reach. Not going to give you any details about these pictures :P, just let your imagination wander away.

Antwerp's Central Station is certainly one of my favourite buildings. It's great mix of classic and modern style. The building materials make a great contrast in texture as well as in colour, stone vs. iron, grey vs. red. Always looks great in photos, no matter what kind of weather there is! Today I was looking through the photos on my iPhone (it's the original one aka 2G :P), and I found some pretty nice views. I know I made this blog for pics taken with my NX10, but i think these are worth to share. Most of them I snapped on the go or when I really didn't have a camera on hand. Oh yeah, there are also a few Instagram shots that I couldn't leave aside :).

This year we've had a very very sunny autumn. The weather has really been great for some colourful, warm pictures with beautiful contrasts. Enjoy!

Here are some photos I took last week in the streets of Oostende and that I thought were worth sharing.

The warmest October 1 ever in Belgium, record high temperatures of 27ºC. Now that's aftersummer! I got to spend this fabulous day at De Haan, a little nice village at the Belgian seaside, not so far from Oostende. As you might have observed from my previous posts, I love photographing water and today I got to do it again. In De Haan the beach is just huge and the sand is sooo fine, a pleasure walking. Very nice place for a day trip and for taking some pics ;) !

It was like 10am. The beach was still covered in a blueish morning glow and the light was really bright, not one cloud in the sky. Contrast is the word for today. Although the original pictures had really nice colors, I chose to post them in black and white; a little mysterious, surrealist touch. Just how I like.

I finally got to use my tripod! I've really wanted for a long time to take some night shots, especially shots of water. In the photos you can admire the Schelde river in Antwerp on a beautiful warm September evening. I am really happy to have my first long exposure shots. Hope you enjoy the view!
